Hmm.

Sir Max residence, of the Sir Max estate, this is Sir Max speaking. Hiya!
Err- hello Max. This is Surlee again-

:notbckdoor:(info) identified - set priority 3

Surlee! What's up? I thought you would be engulfed in your inventions by now.
Well, I was. That's the thing. That new shipment of robots I sent you earlier today for the trolley -- I just realized that the debug setting was stuck on.
Debug? What do they need debug for?
Erm- nothing in particular. We don't need them going haywire in the middle of a game do we? What we do need is for those to be returned as soon as possible, however. Can you bring them back over?
I would if I could, but they've already been deployed in the trolley games.
Deployed? Gah, alright. I'm going to have to send you one of my blueprints. It has a diagram on it of the control panel. Of course, the real one is back in my lab. There is a secondary one installed at the trolley station, though. Let me scan the print-
No, no need! I actually got myself one of those new fangled fax machines. Just send it to me through there.
"New" fax machine...? Nevermind, ok. It's on it's way.

:notbckdoor:(info) incoming fax - attaching to existing log
:notbckdoor:(info) ttr://assets/serialous-business.jpg

Got it! Okay, so which button am I looking for?
Buttons, actually. There is a sequence you need to press to temporarily deactivate them. Get a pencil. You're going to need to press the second one on the top row, the far right one, the first one, and then the first one on the bottom row. Need me to repeat that?
Nope, I got it.
You wrote it down that fast?
Nope! Anyhoo, I'll head over to the trolley station and bring them back soon.
Before you go, Max, why exactly are you recording calls for quality purposes from your home phone?
Recording calls? I'm not recording any calls.
But it said- Max... where exactly did you activate the robots?
Right here at my house. It was easier for them to walk than to load them all into the truck.
Oh my..- was one of the robots short, skinny, and fascinated with phones?
Yeah! He was the one who installed my fax machine.
Max, I'm on my way. Unplug the fax, and turn off everything in your house. Gah! Of course, of course. It's today. I shouldn't even be surprised.
I don't understand... what about today?
It's the 26th of March.
What's so special about the 26th of March?
That's the thing, Max - I have no idea. Apparently this is. I'll be there soon.

This was the first ARG to incorporate Toontown Rewritten itself into decrypting the blog post and related blueprint. At the end of Trolley games involving Cogs (known in-game at the time as Trolley-bots), a pink announcement bubble would appear with a Cog debug message. This debug message included both a Hexadecimal code and a single word. Players had to find all of these debug messages and order them correctly to get the message "Method used is the same as last time. All records expunged, further investigation will be necessary."

Blueprint

Blueprint decryption method:

Vigenere cipher - key is "creatingequiment", found by converting the Hex codes in the above order to text.

Decryption (Top to bottom, right to left):

  • Able to create anything your mind can imagine -- as long as it is made of metal
  • Do not let machine overheat - manufacturing will continue indefinitely until manually stopped
  • Finished product exits on conveyor belt
  • State of the art robo-hands organize the pieces into place
  • Any object or machine can be mass-producted in seconds
  • Machine operates as long as metal is supplied
  • Design input can take any shape - whatever you need, it can make
  • Built-in Laff Meter measure internal Tooniness of the product as it is created (Warning: Do not let the meter get too low)
